Sorry, but I don't offer valuations. If you own this item yourself, and want to find out what it's worth, then the best advice I can give is to check eBay completed items to see if one similar has been sold recently.

Could you tell me if it is possible to buy this book and how much it will cost. I live in Western Australia. How much Aussie dollar will it cost? Please contact me on mlkelly94@gmail.com

I thought you may be interested in a little background to the cover illustration for Unfinished Tales. There is occasionally some discussion about the colours used, some covers having faded and so on. The colours on the original we’re in fact drawn by Tolkien in coloured ball pen on a printed page from a newspaper! His original was handed to me when I worked at Oxford Illustrators, Oxford, UK in the late 1970s. I was asked to extricate the image from the newsprint and create colour separated artwork ready for the book cover. I chose more muted colours than Tolkien’s ball pen original which looked a bit too garish but it still retains a good deal of colour!
Sadly, I had to return the original to the publishers.
